Fielding - Ten players defensively: Pitcher, catcher, first base, second base, third base, short stop (infield), left field, left center field, right center field, and right field.
- A player who plays at the Pitcher or First Base position may only play that position for a maximum of one inning per game.
- No player shall sit out of a game for more than one inning. Coaches shall monitor this to ensure fairness that all players sit out on an equal basis throughout the course of the season.
- Each player must play infield at least two innings per game. Note: If time expires before player(s) have/has played two innings minimum, that player(s) shall immediately start the next game and play two consecutive innings in the infield. Coaches are required to keep track of all players’ playing requirements.
- Infielders playing First, Second, Third, and Short stop may not play in the baseline. Coaches should position infielders either five feet in front of baseline or five feet behind the baseline to avoid base running collisions.
- Fielders are encouraged to make the proper fielding play. The Pitcher must field the ball and throw to the first baseman.
- No infield fly rule.
- Only one base advancement (all base runners) will be allowed on an overthrow at first base. Dead ball—when runner reaches 2nd base.
- To stop play, Pitcher must have control of the ball inside the pitcher’s circle.
- Halfway Rule: While base running, if the runner is halfway or more before the pitcher has control of the ball in pitcher’s circle, the base runner is awarded the next base. Otherwise, the runner must return to the previous base.
- The pitcher’s foot must be on the rubber until the batter makes contact with the ball.
- Outfielders must remain behind the arc until the ball is batted.
- Only one defensive coach allowed on infield and should be positioned just outside the foul line, approximately ten feet on his/her dugout side.
- Only two outfield coaches and they should be positioned behind the outfielders.
- No parents are allowed on the field or in the dugout unless they are a coach or the team mom.
